On 28th December 2024, we at the Inspired Foundation hosted our Christmas Joy party at the Saviour Children’s Foundation in Kasoa, Accra, Ghana, a peri-urban town in the Awutu Senya East Municipal District of the Central region of Ghana, about 34.1 km from the airport in the capital city Accra, a day that will forever be etched in our hearts. This event wasn’t just about celebrating Christmas; it was about bringing joy, spreading hope, and creating cherished memories for underprivileged children.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our founder, who largely funded the event, and the collaboration of Dr. Paul Lartey of The Chosen Fertility Hospital and the Empowerment Worship Centre – West Hills Campus, this vision came to life. Additional support from our valued partners—Daavi Eli’s Kitchen, AM Events,  Frosticles, and Craft. Creative Agency —ensured the day was nothing short of magical.

A Day Full of Activities and Smiles

The party kicked off around 1 PM with a vibrant setup that transformed the space into a festive wonderland. The children engaged in exciting activities like sack races, spoon and lime competitions, musical chairs, and a dancing competition. There were moments of wonder with face painting, endless fun on the bouncy castle, and of course, laughter and joy all around.

Food and drinks were plentiful, with delicious meals, refreshing drinks, and sweet treats. Frosticles delighted everyone with their signature ice cream, and the kebabs from Daavi Eli’s Kitchen were a clear favourite among the kids.

While the Saviour Children’s Foundation is home to 95 children, the party extended its warmth to many children from the community, ensuring the joy was shared far and wide.

Each child in the home received a gift bag containing wristwatches (smart watches for the older kids)—which was donated by STATDC (@statdc_global), pencil cases, cookies and toffees amongst other goodies. Their joy was palpable as they opened their surprises, with some sharing that they had never experienced anything like this before.

Reflecting on the Impact

It was a day where love, hope, and community came together to create something truly special. Their smiles and laughter reminded us why we do what we do. As our founder, Mrs  Zoe Agyei expressed, “Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and loved. This day was about showing them that no dream is too big, no hope too far-fetched.”

Dr. Paul Lartey echoed this sentiment, saying, “This is what Christmas is all about—sharing, giving, and creating joy for those who need it most. It’s a blessing to be a part of this.”

Looking Ahead

While this project was primarily self-funded, with only about $100 raised through external donations, the support from our collaborators and partners was invaluable. Together, we made magic happen, proving that with enough heart and determination, anything is possible.
